And it is looking more unlikely that it ever will. As I have pointed out before the day that deaths are reported is not the day of death. Though Florida has had several days reporting over two hundred deaths, there has actually never been a day where 200 Floridians died from Covid-19. The last two days not withstanding, it is very possible that Florida has reached at least a plateau if not a peak in deaths. The actual peak of Florida deaths remains July 17th, tied with July 16th with 150 deaths, nineteen days ago.
This issue, reported versus actual day of death numbers is not limited to Florida, all states are now required to keep date of death records due to CDC guidelines. Texas had some major issues with changing over to this, first adding some older deaths in and then having to take some out. Keeping track by actual date of death makes sense but it also allows the media to manipulate the reported data for negative headlines, so what else is new.
